Storybook Fun!
On June 8, 60 kids and their siblings and parents enjoyed a publication celebration for the book, Storybook Art. The 60 kids all contributed illustrations to the book, mostly in the form of portrait sketches of the picture book illustrators featured throughout Storybook Art. Here are a few snapshots of some of the kids receiving their books and meeting MaryAnn Kohl for the first time.
The party included: moon walk, face painting, hat making, bubble blowing, hotdogs, cake, and other
yummies. Kids were also treated to viewing wildlife at Kohl's home, including pollywogs, huge nest of thatcher ants, fish, bugs, snakes, and Canada goose family with 7 babies. Frisbee throwing with Gracie, the Kohl's dog, was an ongoing activity.
