Everyday Photo Display - from Math Arts
To create a display of everyday happenings, the artist photographs about five events. When the film is developed, the photographs are displayed in the sequence in which they occurred.

Materials:
instamatic camera (or Polaroid)
photographic film
pieces of matte board to fit the size of the developed photograph
library tape
white glue or tape
crayons, wrapping paper or fabric to decorate front and end sheets

Process:
1.Photograph about five events in one day.
2. Develop the film, overnight, if possible, so the events are a recent memory.
3. An adult tapes sections of matte board together with library tape, one matte for each photo, and two extras for the front and the end sheets. Leave a slight gap between each matte so the mattes will fold up or bend at the seams.
4. Stretch out the matte boards flat on the table.
5. The artist decorates the front sheet and the end sheet with crayons, wrapping paper or fabric. One side or both sides can be decorated.
6. Next, tape or glue the first photograph of the sequence of everyday events in the first empty page. The second photo on the second page and so on.
7. Stand the photo display accordion style on its edge so that the sequence of events can be viewed.
Variations:
- Stage a story with kids in costume and photograph the sequence of events.
- Make up a story or sequence from magazine pictures and put in order.
