String Snacks from Preschool Art |

Materials
- Embroidery floss or crochet thread
- Scissors
- large-eyed plastic needle
- food items - dry cereal with holes, raisins, prunes, dried apricots or gum drops
- beads made from baked bread dough

Art Process
- Thread floss through the needle. Knot the doubled thread at one end.
- String various food items on the thread until the string is full.
- Cut the end of the string at the needle and tie this end to the other end of the string making a complete circle, necklace or garland of food.
- Wear, eat and enjoy! A real portable snack!

Variations
- String a small box of raisins to the necklace as a pendant.
- Fill squares of plastic wrap with seeds or nuts and attach these to the necklace too.
- Use patterns in the design such as dark/light, smooth/rough or large/small.
- Go for a walk while wearing snack-necklaces.
- Make the necklaces for gifts.
